SACC Regional Round of the National Nature Photographic Competition
Date: Sunday, 30th January. 2011. Doors open at 10am.
Venue: The Park Hotel, Dungarvan, Co. Waterford
Members of SACC clubs wishing to enter the National Competition may only do so by achieving a qualifying score at this regional round.
All entries must comply with the FIAP definition of Nature Photography. The judges will have the right to determine, for the purposes of this competition, what does or does not comply with this definition. There are two categories (i) colour prints and (ii) colour projected images. Competitors may enter a maximum of three images per category. Projected images must all be either all three colour slides or all three digital images.
The entry fee, as published on the entry form, is €5 for one section and €8 for two sections. It is proposed to have two experienced judges from outside the SACC area for this qualifying round. They will each award points to entries and those attaining a qualifying total score will be forwarded to the National Competition. The qualifying score will be decided on the day of the competition so that approximately 50% of entries in each category will qualify.
SACC will award SACC gold medals to the entrants of the best image and certificates to the winners of second and third places.
Print and slide/projected entries, with entry fees and completed entry forms, will be accepted on the day of the competition from 10 am to 12 midday.
Prints and slides which do not qualify for the National Finals must be collected and removed immediately following the close of the SACC competition.
